Lucak; loving mother of Gerald (Patricia), Mark (Debra), Jane Denton, John (Annie Ho), James (deceased), and Robert (Gabrielle Lawrence); dear grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 3; stepmother to Alan (Debby), Diane Krall (Mark), Laurie Pallenik (David), step-grandmother to their 11 children and 16 grandchildren.
Jeannette was born in Northampton MA, the only child of Emile and Yvonne Goulet (nee Cote). At age 5, her family moved to Cleveland. Despite speaking only French at home, she thrived in school and graduated from Villa Angela Academy in 1946. She attended Ursuline College and studied chemistry at Fenn College, where she met George Lucak. They married in 1949. After raising six children, she returned to work in various part- and full-time positions, retiring as Administrative Assistant at R.A. Gall Management Company in 1990. She had a wide variety of interests and strongly believed in continuous self-education. Traveling was one of her favorite activities. She took frequent bus trips throughout the country, sometimes with her lifelong high school friends. Jan was a gifted roller skater from childhood into her 70s. At Skateland she met Fred Schroeder and they married in 1999. Staying active even in her 90s, she tended her flowers and maintained her yard every day. Jan loved cats, but the wild birds were her favorites. Her tenacity and can-do attitude set an example for all her children and grandchildren.
